Barbara Bunting has been a passionate supporter of Planned Parenthood for many years. She is a current member of PPCGNNJ’s Board of Directors, is a member of the finance committee and has served as the chair of the Board of Directors. Her support for the organization spreads throughout the affiliate — from education to operations. A resident of Summit, Barbara has been very active in her community as well, serving on the Board of the Summit Area Public Foundation, of which she is currently treasurer; she is a member of Christ Church in Summit, a trustee on the Union County College Foundation and a member of the Board of SAGE Elder Care. Her former Board memberships include Summit Helping its People, the Junior League of Summit, Kent Place School, Summit Speech School, Summit 2005/Shaping Summit Together, Summit Supports our Troops and the YWCA of Summit. She has been an active volunteer at Summit Child Care Centers, Summit Mayor’s Task Force, Christ Church Chancel Choir, National Interfaith Hospitality Network and the Pingry School.
In her spare time, Barbara is passionate about crossword puzzles and other word games, and is a member of the National Puzzler’s League. She is also an avid golfer. Barbara is a graduate and very active alumna of Smith College. Her husband, David, is also a long time supporter of Planned Parenthood. He has also served on the finance committee of the affiliate. They have two grown children and a 3-year-old grandson.
