Steve Brown, Psy.D., is the author Streetwise to Sex-Wise: Sexuality Education for High Risk Youth, now in its new third edition. Steve worked as a full-time Sexuality Educator, working under the legendary Peggy Brick, at the Center for Family Life Education from 1988-1991. He still describes himself as a sexuality educator/trainer which mostly means he annoys his children talking about sex and occasionally is an OWL Facilitator.
Currently, Steve, a clinical psychologist, is the Director of the Traumatic Stress Institute of Klingberg Family Centers in New Britain, CT. He also is Coordinator of the Risking Connection Training Program, an international trauma training program used by organizations to implement trauma-informed care. His work bridges the fields of trauma, trauma-informed care, organizational change, sexual violence prevention, and sexual health promotion. He has presented widely on implementing trauma-informed care in sexual and reproductive health organizations. He is former Board chair of Stop It Now!, a leading national child sexual abuse prevention organization. He is married, has two (mostly) sexually healthy teenage daughters, and a beloved frisbee dog named Joey.
